In the independent edition, business data lives on your device. A separate copy helps you recover from a device failure or data loss.
Make backups a routine
Use the backup function available in your edition. Include the date in the filename and keep a copy outside the drive used to run the software.
Store copies securely
Backups may include customer and account data. Keep them on protected media accessible only to authorized people. Do not send them through the public contact form.
Check that restoration is possible
Periodically check that the file is complete, and arrange a restoration test in a separate environment. Do not replace live business data with an old file without reviewing it.
Before replacing or resetting a device
Keep the data backup and Active Key, and check device identity requirements with Dukkanak. A backup does not replace the activation file, or vice versa.
